Catholic Sacraments

Baptism
We acknowledge the blessing our parish receives when a baby is born into a parish family. Baptism is recommended within the first few months of the baby's birth. One Godparent is required, two are allowed but then they cannot be of the same sex. Each sponsor must provide a letter of recommendation. Please see below for more information on sponsors and letters of recommendation.

Requirements for Sponsors

One must be a baptized Catholic, confirmed and sixteen years of age. A baptized Christian who is practicing his/her Christian non-Catholic faith may act as a witness, not as a sponsor, as long as there is one Catholic Sponsor. This non-Catholic witness may not be a former Catholic.

Letters of Recommendation
A letter will be given to parishoners who are presently registered and actively participating their faith in our parish community. That is those who attend Mass regularly, have received the three Sacraments of Initiation; Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation; if married; are so in harmony with Church Law; if parents, are sending their children to Catholic School or Religious Education classes.
